With Hands Shook by Emmet Stephen
Flash Fiction
“With Hands Shook. Peace on Earth."
When hands are shaken, it is usually as a sign of agreeance and understanding. With other countries present in the world, each with their own sometimes contradictory viewpoints, there is tension and in some cases, war. There has always been talk about world peace, but the fact itself seems so impossible many don’t think twice about it as stopping it would be a futile effort.
My six word story is about a day when we finally put aside our differences and unite in world peace. Not only does war put those involved in a bad situation, but it can also harm our natural environment and leave scars on the world that won’t be repairable. War is just one very big silly argument that gets too heated and starts to involve people who don’t belong. Personally, I believe that the world is better off without war, which is the general viewpoint of the public. When these hypothetical hands shook, when every nation finally agreed to put aside their differences for the betterment of the world, that is when there would be peace on earth, a world saved from its own inhabitants.
